The nearest airport from Mukteshwar is located in Pantnagar, situated about 200 kms from Ranikhet. Another option for the travelers is to fly till the Jolly Grant airport at Dehradun and take local taxis or luxury buses from there.
By Rail
The nearest railheads are located at Kathgodam, at 35 kms from Mukteshwar. From there, one can take cabs or buses to Mukteshwar
By Road
Mukteshwar is well connected by roads. It can be reached quite easily from all the major towns of the Kumaon district and even from all the major cities of the state. Indian Veterinary Research Institute/IVRI :: The IVRI or Indian Veterinary Research Institute is one of the premier research institutes of the country. It is dedicated to the research work of livestock and development of the same, in the region. It came into being in the year 1893 on the recommendations of the Cattle Plague Commission.It is located at Mukteshwar and its main function is to research, assist and quarantine highly infectious organisms. Its primary work involves researching animal nutrition, genetics and bacteriology.
Mukteshwar museum and library :: Located in the Indian Veterniary Research Institute campus, at Mukteshwar is a library and museum. There are loads of books available in the library while the museum preserves the heritage and values of the IVRI.
The majestic Himalayas :: Mukteshwar provides its visitors with some of the most beautiful and panoramic view of the Himalayan ranges. All the major Himalayan mountains are visible from this place. This splendid view has been a major attraction to the visitors visiting Mukteshwar.

The Mukteshwar Utsav, Orissa is one of the most well known festivals that are celebrated in the state. This festival is named after one of the most renowned temples of Orissa called the Mukteshwar Temple.This temple is a very important part of the cultural life of the people of Orissa as the arch at the temple entrance is considered to be one of the most beautiful specimens of the Orissan school of architecture. This temple is signifies the transitional phase of the architecture of Orissa between the initial and the later stages of Kalinga architectural style. The beautiful architectural work of the temple add to the splendor of the Mukteshwar Utsav.The extended lawns that stretch in between the premises of the Mukteswar Temple and the Parsurameswar Temple house the Mukteshwar Utsav in Orissa.The Mukteshwar Utsav at Orissa is mainly a dance festival, in which many talented Odissi dancers perform. This festival should not be missed by the people who take interest in the traditional dance forms of India.This festival is actually the final part of the Ekamra Utsav. The Ekamra Utsav is very popular among the people of the state who believe in the religion of Hinduism.The Mukteshwar Utsav of Orissa generally spans for four days at a stretch. In the year 2007, the festival has been organized from the 14th to the 17th of the month of January in 2007. In the year 2006, it was celebrated from the 12th to the 15th of the month of January.
MUKTESWAR DANCE FESTIVAL :: The Mukteshwar Utsav of Orissa is one of the most well known festival those celebrated in the state. This festival is named after one of the most renowned temples of Orissa i.e. Mukteshwar Temple. The Mukteshwar Utsav in Orissa is mainly a dance festival, in which many talented Odissi dancers perform. This temple is a very important part of cultural life of the people of Orissa as the architecture at the temple entrance is considered to be one of the most beautiful specimens of the Orissan School of architecture. This temple signifies the transitional phase of the architecture of Orissa between the initial and the later stages of Kalinga architectural style. The beautiful architectural works of the temple add to the splendor of the Mukteshwar Utsav. This festival should not be missed by the people who take interest in the traditional dance forms of India. The festival is being organized by the Department of Tourism as part of Ekamra Utsav that is aimed at promoting Bhubaneswar as a major destination for cultural tourism. It will be an exclusive Odissi dance festival unlike the other festivals being organized by the Department. It would feature solo, duet and group presentations.
